How did we find out about the Friary?
Based in West Bridgford – The Friary have a relationship with Jesse Gray School whereby children give items at their annual Harvest festival. We thought this was a fantastic initiative and wanted to help out more! So, the Friary are our chosen charity for 2018.
The Friary’s mission
To empower homeless and vulnerable adults to rebuild their lives by offering practical services, advice and emotional support.
What do they offer?
Drop in’s, advice and appointments. Every year the charity caters for 15,000 visits from local people who are suffering the effects of homelessness, substance misuse, financial destitution and social isolation.
They have the following services:
- Professional Advice and Referral
- GP Surgery
- Homeless Health Team
- Employment Support
- IT Literacy Training
- Welfare Provision of Nutritious Food, Clothing, Toiletries and Small Household Items
- Shower and Laundry Facilities
Interested in helping out?
If you’d like to help out – either get in touch with us or the Friary directly. People tend to help by sparing a few hours thus gaining work experience and meeting some lovely new people. Other ways you can support the Friary - give money, volunteer, leave a gift in your will, donate goods that are contributed towards starter packs, items may include men’s and ladies’ jeans, T-shirts, jumpers, shirts, socks, footwear, non-perishable & tinned food, toiletries, rucksacks, sleeping bags, jackets, small household and electrical items or fundraise.
